Grew up in a small town and had to work extra hard to get my foot in the door working on cool tech startups. My first job at age 15 was fixing iPhone screens in the mall. Then I scooped ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery and bussed tables at a local airport restaurant to pay for college. 

After football practice in high school I'd be learning how to code on CodeAcademy. People thought I was a nerd. 

Fast forward 10 years -- I've built multiple apps, b2b SaaS, internet businesses, websites, and e-commerce businesses that have generated over $100m collectively. 

I got to work remotely, travel to 12+ countries, invest in real estate and stocks and built a fruitful living for myself. 

Learning how to build apps changed my life. Now I’m on a mission to teach 10,000 people how to build apps.

Caleb Dykema invented 1Swipe which is a device that enables STEM professors to be more efficient in their classrooms by helping to erase whiteboards in a fraction of the time it would normally take with a handheld eraser. Working through the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, he led the design of the prototype, managing the engineering and marketing teams, and coordinating suppliers and resources throughout the duration of the project.

Stationed at the R&D facility in New Holland, PA, I worked with various teams in the Case IH flagship combine harvester group including Cab & Chassis, Engine Installation, and Crop Harvesting. A major accomplishment at Case was leading the Engine Installation Team in designing a test stand, testing, and later upgrading the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank. Other accomplishments were several sheet metal and bracket assembly redesign projects in which I reduced the overall cost, the part count, and the redesigns made it easier for production to install.

Product Development Engineer Intern - Case IH Combines

I worked at Rite-Hite Doors as a mechanical engineering co-op. My main duties included product research and development, cost reduction efforts, testing of new products, and design of new products. Although I worked mainly with mechanical engineers, I sought to learn the electrical side as well and had several tasks assisting electrical engineers. 

Notable accomplishments:
-Invention and product development of 'Forklift Tine Shovel,' a forklift attachment that eases the 
  movement of very large cargo. 
-Lead the effort for a redesign of a freezer door assembly station and manufacturing process.
-Lead a team in solving an issue involving door panels arriving to the customer damaged.
-Designed and built enclosures for electrical systems including a control box safety cover to protect 
  installers in the event of an explosion.
-Cost reduction of metal and plastic parts through different manufacturing processes that lead to extensive research and testing of different materials.
-Reverse engineering of a new freezer door sealing system.

Mechanical Engineer Intern

Fabricated metal parts with punch presses, automatic presses and drill presses, confirmed tolerances using blueprints as a guide, trained new employees, and operated a forklift. Created drawing files of parts for laser cutting using Solidworks.

I have worked on my family’s pasture-based animal farm since I was young. I have taken care of the animals (pigs, cows, chickens, and turkeys) and have helped direct market our product to various restaurants, stores, and individual customers. Throughout my life I have learned how to run a small business, work on many mechanical systems, and have developed retail experience.

I grew up on a small chicken farm in Wisconsin.

Turns out you can learn a lot about business managing livestock and milking the family cow by hand.

In college, I fell in love with building cool products to help people. A lot of failed ideas.  But I did patent an education product.

In 2020 I founded Vault Sports. What started as a consumer tech company later evolved into one of the fastest-growing sportsbook affiliate networks in North America. We have a network of websites, creators, and media outlets that promote fantasy and sports betting brands.  DraftKings and FanDuel are a couple of our clients.

A few years into the biz, my co-founder and I got on the Austin Forbes 30 Under 30 List (no, we didn’t pay for it).  We met some awesome people. Can throw the name on the ol’ LinkedIn bio. But nothing more.

My faith is the number one thing in my life. Followed by family. And somewhere after these remains my love for building cool stuff to help people.
