Why did I do something so crazy?

Before leaving my job, I learned that my dad who was working with his accountant of 5 years never filed his corporate tax returns. 

After doing some digging, we found out that although my dad paid his accountant every year, it was his accountant in fact who never submitted his tax returns. It wasn’t my dad’s fault – it was the accountant’s fault! 

Determined to fix this wrong, I helped my dad get his past-due tax returns filed. 

Soon after that, I learned that many of my friends who were business owners had a similar experience. Most accountants are smart but don’t take the time to (1) explain, (2) provide proactive advice, and (3) respond to their customers on time (in my dad’s case, nothing was done…)

We at Vertical CPA are determined to change this.

→  Working in the intelligence team to develop a suite of plugins in Word and Outlook to develop drafts automatically for lawyers based on writings they have written in previous documents in Outlook documents history and Word using Langchain, GPT4-O, BERT, Claude, FAST API, Python, REST API, etc.

-> Developed a working legal law AI Chatbot dynamic enough to control the whole Microsoft Word application, clause-by-clause modifications, and interactive chat interaction to gather essential information from users and then generate a draft.

→  Implementation of RAG techniques for data collection on multiple law sites and storing the filtered data in the database to enhance model performance by 60%.

→  Prompt Engineering and embedding for contextual-based data parsing from user chat history, generating drafts relevant to the provided templates used by the user or lawyer-based history sources, keeping intact prompt context with prompt chaining mechanism with an accuracy of 83% in results, and finally developing evals for evaluating these prompt results.

→  Building the draft and review features, such as developing architecture, entities, data modeling, WebSockets for CRUD functions, draft generation using Langchain, etc., to scale to an estimated 1+ million users.

→  Developing front-end UI pages for the draft features using Next.js, React, Redux, etc, and integrating the backend websockets with the frontend.

→  Utilized various open source projects such as Salt project to deal with multiple remote execution protocols, minimizing network latency, load balancing certain parts of the project to reduce load times, and embedding microservices using docker to create a scalable environment for the product.

→  Developed various Diffusion Pipelines based on SD1, SD1.5, and SD XL using Python, hugging face, fast API, Dramatiq(task queue), diffusion pipelines, Azure, Redis, etc for image, audio, video, and text generation

→  Led frontend development using React, Typescript, Redux, and NEXT.js, while also implementing backend optimizations that reduced 3rd party service costs by 60%.

→  In-depth Operating system and docker + python docker sdk usage for developing automated services to manage the whole system more like a self-managing microservice. Also utilized CI/CD pipelines to automate the whole backend and frontend docker packaging for deployment using GitHub actions.

I'm Eqan Ahmad, an engineer on a mission to use technology to improve people's lives. I have a wealth of experience in blockchain applications, cloud computing, GenAI(Diffusion Pipelines and Langchain), and full-stack web development with of combined experiences 4+ years. I'm a tech enthusiast, always looking to expand my skillset with the latest tools and technologies.

Up until now built a Cloud Computing SaaS for Stable Diffusion to minimize their daily 3rd party reliance cost such as AWS, and runpod.io from 1000$+ per day to less than 500$ per day. But it's not just the tech skills I bring to the table. I was also selected for a prestigious Stanford University fellowship, where I worked with a team to tackle big problems like starvation analysis and sustainable living. I have also been selected for the Prime Minister National Innovation Award to bring industry revolutionary ideas to change the nation's educational paradigm selected from 12,000+ candidates.

Also working with Law Based Gen AI companies to make tools that allow lawyers to generate and review their drafts seamlessly without spending too much time modifying templates to bring their tone, wording, etc.

I'm passionate about user experience and design, and believe that less is more when it comes to features. My personal strengths include a customer-first approach, a strong ethical mindset, and a critical thinking ability that comes in handy for problem-solving.

As for my career goals, I'm excited to explore the intersection of technology and automation, and to use my skills to streamline and eliminate repetitive tasks. I'm always up for a new challenge, so bring it on!
