But first, I'd like to give you some perspective on where I've come from.

I had my first job at 12; I worked as a custodian at my local church. I haven't NOT worked since then, except for breaks between jobs and one period where I self-sabotaged myself out of a job (that's a story over drinks or a very strong cup of coffee).  

Knowing that, imagine deciding to stop working, not because of a layoff or termination, but because you need a break and want to hit the reset button.  That's where I'm coming from...

Ok, here is the boring ask for leads: I'd love to stay in the HR Tech industry, but I am open to new fields in the following roles: Sales Leadership, Sales Coaching, Sales Enablement, and Strategic Account Management and Partnerships.

Building a GTM strategy and the illusion of knowledge

If you’re a start up or growth stage organization, lead generation and sales pipeline are something that’s probably top of mind every day.   *Spoiler alert; if you’re a CRO of a mid sized or larger org, that’s also still true.  But for those building from ground up, getting GTM and revenue generation right are critical for long term success.

It’s easy to fall into the traditional model of hiring SDR teams and AE’s, spending 6 figures on trade show sponsorships, and investing in a myriad of sales tools (17 was a number I saw recently).  This traditional model is $1M+ investment per year with the hope to drive meaningful revenue at some future date.  This is the model for those that follow the ‘this is how we’ve always done it’ school of thought. 
 
It’s incredible	easy to fall into the trap of how things have always been done.  It’s the very definition of inside the box thinking.  In 2025, now more than ever, it’s time to not just think outside the box, but to break it down and toss in the recycling heap.  AI tools can already replace many functions in the sales process at a fraction of the cost.  It’s time to craft a GTM strategy that includes where and how we invest and how to maximize the ROI.  To stop doing things just because we ‘think’ it’s the only way.  To put it another way take this quote from historian Daniel J Boorstin, ‘the greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance-it’s the illusion of knowledge’.
