Your first line decides if people keep reading. 

Lead with the outcome or the contrast.

Make it bold, specific, result-driven. 

Don't bury the hook in setup.

Show the struggle before the win. Make it relatable. 

Readers need to see themselves in your story before they care about the giveaway.

→ Make the text scannable.
→ Attach proof as a GIF/image

When people can quickly understand the value, they engage.

Don't make them DM you for access.

Keep it simple: 

→ "Like + Comment 'PLAYBOOK' and I'll send it" 

Beats 99% of any other CTAs. 

On LinkedIn comments + likes further boost reach. 

So the more people engage with your post, the more people will see it.

And the more people see it, the more will engage.


𝟱. 𝗔𝗱𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀
 
→ Reply to every comment in the first 2h.
→ Break up text into short, readable chunks.

These small moves push reach and keep people engaged longer.
 

I tested this framework a few days after that coffee chat.
 
The result? 84k impressions, 1000+ new followers, and hundreds of newsletter signups for a client.
 
When you make giveaway posts brain-dead simple, they work wonders.

I used to see LinkedIn the same as the 99%. But since studying Chris Donnelly's analysis of 318,000 posts, how I view the platform has completely changed (and got me to understand what actually works):

In Q3 2025, Chris Donnelly and Will McTighe released a surprising report.

And it shows you exactly what drives reach on LinkedIn in 2025.

Here are the 16 tips based on their analysis of 318,000 posts:


Tip #1: Include external links in your posts
→ Posts with 1–3 links got 71% higher reach.
→ Posts with 3+ links got even higher reach (236%).

Tip #2: Post on weekends (especially Sunday)
→ Sunday posts get the highest median reach (1,522 impressions).
→ Saturday comes in second (1,320).

Tip #3: Use carousels and infographics over video
→ Video gets ~1.9× text reach.
→ Infographics get ~3× and carousels get 4×.

Tip #4: Focus on quality over posting frequency
→ Top creators get 90% of views from just 20% of posts. 

Tip #5: Write longer posts (1,250–3,000 characters)
→ Posts with 1,250–3,000 characters get 38% higher impressions. 

Tip #6: Use portrait images (4:5 ratio)
→Portrait images perform 106% better than landscape. Mobile rules the feed.

Tip #7: Leave thoughtful comments on other posts (150+/week)
→ Top 5% creators leave 499% more comments (150+/week vs 25).

Tip #8: Write meaningful comments with insight
→ Generic "Great post!" comments don't move the needle. Thoughtful replies with insight do help though.

Tip #9: Build a clear personal brand
→ Top 1% grow 154× faster than median users.

Tip #10: Share frameworks instead of quotes
→ Framework posts get ~1,955 median impressions.

Tip #11: Write in simple language (5th–7th grade level)
→ Simple language performs 35% better than complex vocabulary. Drop the jargon.

Tip #12: Use horizontal video format
Horizontal videos perform better on LinkedIn. Desktop/work context is key.

Tip #13: Expect lower reach and optimize for quality
→ Median impressions dropped 65% from the 2023 peak. Down 18% year-over-year. Quality matters more than ever.

Tip #14: Focus on niche content
→ The algorithm now caps ultra-viral posts. Niche content gets more visibility than before.

Tip #15: Break text into 7+ paragraphs.
→ Posts with fewer than that see a 74% drop in performance.

Tip #16: Provide substance before asking questions
→ Generic questions without value underperform. 

When you look at what the data says, you can build a LinkedIn strategy around reality instead of gut feeling.

Because today, the platform primarily rewards quality, specificity, and value.

(Not the generic best practices from 2022 that people keep reusing 😬)

Thought Leader Ads on LinkedIn are a great way to amplify organic posts that are already working.

ClickUp's an enterprise and they've been running over 175 Ads in the last 30 days (mix of Thought Leader and Company Page ads).

But the strategy can work regardless your size if you make sure that you:

1. Have a content that already gets high organic engagement
2. Have a profile with existing following

Their ads cover the whole funnel, from brand awareness, to product education, and case studies.


𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿 #3

ClickUp has been doubling down on their Super Agents feature (AI employees for different types of tasks)

What's genius is how they're approaching building a brand that goes beyond a standard kit.

They introduced an artifact (the gradient mask you can see) and embedded it not just in their LinkedIn ad creatives, but also with:

↳ profile pictures of the Founder + other employees (I counted at least 50+ people with the mask on)

↳ and reinforcing that further in the physical world on their Times Square billboard 

It may look trivial or weird if you don't know the product.

But if you're a ClickUp user, you get a brand touch every single time you interact with someone from the company.


𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆

If you want to scale content on LinkedIn as a B2B SaaS, your best bet is doing it horizontally, with multiple people posting, and a few strong thought leaders.

I've seen a similar strategy work out for other big players (Clay, HubSpot, Lovable, Perspective), but ClickUp's unique brand angle makes it worth studying.

AI engagement farming is getting out of hand.
 
We need to talk…
 
Look, I understand commenting under other people’s posts takes time.
 
But it’s no excuse to outsource your social interactions to an AI tool.
 
I posted a video about it a year ago and it got semi-viral.
 
Now, today, I’m seeing all these AI comments rephrasing others’ insights and saying back to people what they just wrote about.
And then equally AI replies to these comments.
This is not how we build trust in society…
 
LinkedIn as a platform exists so we can network with others.
It is the equivalent of the old school chambers of commerce.
You come in, exchange value with other members, and hopefully both of you leave with relevant insights that help your growth.
But if you don’t comment with value, it’s the equivalent to coming in and telling obvious things everyone knows. 
(”Hey, you need to sell more and work less!”—yeah, thanks…) 

Used to be enough to just add your insights.
Now everyone has access to the same AI knowledge.
So what’s your way to build trust today? Your story.
 
This will forever be the only part others can’t steal from you and today it seems no longer optional.
 
Your story is THE value.
