2013: Launched United Fitness in Huntington Beach, CA, and grew to 6 locations

2016: Founded Gym Launch and switched from privately owning gyms to doing in-person turnarounds

2017: We transitioned from in-person turnarounds to a licensing business and helped over 4500+ facilities transform their businesses.

2019: Our supplement company, Prestige Labs, launched to help those gyms create another profit center and provide their customers with high-quality nutritional products.

2020: Started ALAN, a software company that helps brick-and-mortar businesses get twice as many people in the door on average for one-third the price of a front desk admin.

2020: Founded Acquisition.com, to invest in and help grow companies. Made our first 3 investments.

Here are 8 lessons I learned that can help you: 

#1 Sell to rich people until you have the money to sell to all the poor people. The middle is where you get killed. Rich people pay for speed and convenience. 

#2 You lack priorities, not information. Problems are easy to solve if you know what you’re after. 

#3 Things are hard because your team isn’t as good as you think they are. Your standards are too low. Your best talent you have not even hired yet. 

#4 Lots of rules mean you have dumb people. The more talented and capable your people are the less structure you need in your company. Only hire people who will raise the bar of the other team members. 

#5 If you want to get bigger, get better. Better leads to growth. Bigger leads to bloat. 

#6 You work all day but you can’t get anything done because you allow too many things that don’t matter distract you. Sometimes you have to let fires burn. 

#7 Building a brand takes a long time. However, it is the most valuable thing you can own. It gives you the ability to get incredible returns on advertising. It’s difficult to imagine something better than a strong brand. It just takes time. 

#8 You need to know the inputs and outputs of your money-making system,  broken down to the absolute smallest action. That way you can scale it while sustaining your margins.

Pakistani families will spend 30-50 lakh on a wedding without thinking twice.

Where's the one sentence that proves you spent 5 minutes on their business?

You're not getting ignored because the market is bad.

You're getting ignored because your pitch is lazy.

$5,000 clients can smell effort. They can also smell copy-paste.

There are two types of copy:

Copy the client loves.
Copy that actually sells.

They're rarely the same.

Copy clients love...

— Fancy words 
— Clever headlines 
— Beautiful wireframing 
— Sounds impressive

Copy that sells...

— Simple words 
— Clear message 
— Speaks to the market 
— Based on what works

The more "creative" the copy, the worse it converts.

Clients love copy that makes them feel smart.

Customers buy copy that makes them feel understood.

Your job isn't to write copy your client frames on their wall.

Your job is to write copy their customers can't ignore.

Pakistan didn't hold you back.

You held yourself back and blamed Pakistan.

I know we have issues here. 

Internet issues. 
Load shedding. 
Taxes that don't make sense.

But how many people do you know who made it work anyway?

Some of them had privilege.
Some of them didn't use the right means. 

But some people did it the right way.

Thora zor lagaien, ya bahanay banein gay ya paisay... dono sath me nahe bantay.

Copywriters are leaving $3k-$10k/month on the table because of a label problem...

They're calling themselves copywriters when brands are desperately hiring creative strategists and can't find enough good ones.

Here's what most people won't tell you about creative strategy...

If you've been writing direct response copy for any meaningful amount of time, you're already doing most of it. 

You research winning ads. 
You write VSLs and UGC scripts. 
You study what hooks are working in a market and why they're working.

The only thing separating a copywriter from a creative strategist is 
understanding what happens to your work after it leaves your hands.

Things like CTR, thumbstop rate, hook rate, and click playthroughs. 

The metrics that tell you whether your creative is actually performing once it hits a paid feed. 

You don't need to run ads yourself to understand this. 

That's the entire gap.

And yet brands are paying creative strategists $3k-$10k a month right now because they can't find enough people who think beyond just the words. 

Most copywriters have convinced themselves this is a completely different 
skill set that requires years of retraining.

It doesn't.

If you understand direct response, you're already 80% of the way there. 

Organize your portfolio around creative work, learn the basic metrics media buyers actually care about, and reposition yourself accordingly.

The opportunity is real and it won't stay this open for long.

I've sold to tens of thousands of Pakistanis.

Here's what nobody tells you about the mass market:

1. Their price-to-value brain is broken.

In developed markets, higher price = higher perceived value.

In Pakistan, higher price = "yeh toh loot raha hai."

The part of the brain that equates price to value is short-circuited.

2. They expect everything for the least possible free.

"Bhai thora discount dedo." 
"Yaar pehli dafa hai, free mein kardo." 
"Itna mehnga? Kya rakha hai ismein?"

No matter how much you give, they want more for less.

3. They want to talk to a human.

Automated funnels? Landing pages? Email sequences?

Forget it.

They want WhatsApp. They want to ask questions. 

They want to feel like they're buying from a person, not a system.

"Bhai aap khud batao, worth it hai?"

4. They don't have a good relationship with money or people with money

Most people in this market are looking for handouts. 

"You have money, give it to me for free."
"He's doing good? Haram ka paisa ho ga."
"Why are you scaling? Is what you're already making not good enough for you?"

From one marketer to another...

This market is different.

What works in the US won't work here.

Adapt or lose.

This took a lot of patience, but I'm glad it worked for her.

We're only halfway through and she finally got her first paying client.

It's honestly her effort. She chose to stand her ground and now things are moving in the right direction, Alhamdulillah.

Sometimes all you need is someone pointing you in the right direction.

Last year, I wrote a post about a guy making 6 lakh/month freelancing... 

who lost the rishta to someone making 60k at a bank.

Things are not the same anymore.

The next generation knows exactly what they want and who they want to build with. 

The people who earn in dollars are no longer "unstable." 
The guy who works from home is no longer "unemployed." 

He's the one with options.

Rishta culture is catching up to reality... slowly, but it's catching up.

Whether you're a man trying to build something real or a woman who refuses to be financially dependent on anyone... the game is the same. 

Own your income. 
Build your cushion. 
Create options for yourself that nobody can take away.

The copywriters making serious money in 2026 are not just writers. 

They are creative strategists.

What does that mean?

A copywriter writes copy.

A creative strategist understands WHY certain copy works, studies what's already winning in the market, and builds on proven frameworks instead of guessing.

Here's what changed.

8-9 figure brands don't sit around brainstorming "creative ideas." 

They study what's already working. 
They swipe. 
They model. 
They improve.

70% of their creative is borrowed from what's already proven.
30% is testing new ideas.

That's creative strategy.

And if you're still writing copy from scratch every time, you're working harder than you need to and probably getting worse results.

Foreplay — Save and organize competitor ads. Build swipe files. Study winning hooks, CTAs, angles.

The process:

✅ Study the structure, hook, offer, CTA
✅ Take the framework, change the specifics
✅ Make it relevant to YOUR client's offer

Copywriters write.

Creative strategists study, then write.

That's the difference.

An employer will sacrifice everything for their team.

Skip buying things so salaries get paid on time. 
Cover for mistakes. 
Treat them like family.

But an employee?

Won't think twice before quitting.

And everyone says, "that's just business."

But if it's strictly business...

Why doesn't the employer fire people the minute they're unprofitable?
Why do they carry underperformers for months hoping they'll improve?

I'm not saying employees are wrong for leaving.

I'm saying the game isn't equal.

Upwork is too saturated.

Meanwhile, a student just texted this...

They're doing $1-1.5K/month and doubling down on creative strategy.

Here's what each one actually looks like...

Level 1: The beginner

"AI ne likha, maine bheja."

You prompt ChatGPT, something decent comes out, and you think you've 
cracked the code.

But here's the truth...

You haven't written anything yet.
You've just operated a machine.

Level 2: The student

This is where things start getting interesting.

You stop just producing output and start asking WHY things work.

Why does this headline stop people?
Why does this email feel different?

Level 3: The craftsman

Hooks, leads, awareness levels... all of it starts clicking.

You stop writing and start engineering responses.

And this is also where your rates start going up.

Level 4: The thinker

This is where most copywriters never arrive.

Copy becomes marketing.
