1. It shows you actually understand their business
2. It makes them want to reply instead of delete

Most people skip step one and wonder why they get ignored.

They blast generic messages about what they sell.

But your audience doesn't care about your product.

They care about their problems.

Spend 5 minutes researching before you hit send:

- Check their LinkedIn posts
- Look at their company's recent changes or launches
- Find the gap between where they are and where they want to be

Then write a message that speaks directly to that gap.

That's how you get replies.

Step 1: Create content consistently

You don't need to chase clients non-stop
Just keep posting good, valuable content. They'll know where to find you.

Your content is your signal.

I started teaching what I knew.
Cold outreach. Pricing. Business. Branding.

I built a community on Linkedin. 
(next on X, Instagram and Youtube)

Slowly, at first. Like molasses slow.

But I didn't let the numbers discourage me.

Then, one day, people started showing up in MY comments.
Sharing MY posts.
Connecting ME to other people.

Eventually, my "heroes" didn't feel so far away.
The teacher becomes the magnet.

Step 2: The 1-9-90 Rule

For every 1 person you want to meet:
• Comment meaningfully on 9 of their posts
• Do this for 90 days

Not "Great post!" garbage.
Add to the conversation.
Challenge respectfully.
Share a related story.

When you finally DM them, you're not a stranger.
You're the person who's been adding value for months.

How do I know this works?
It works on me. I notice people who show up in the comments.

Consistency beats charisma.
Build the relationship slowly, so when you show up, it's not ice cold.

Step 3: Building your small circle

Introverts thrive in small, curated environments.

So you want to know me more? Well, I'm flattered! 

As a sales person, I'm usually the one trying to know more about others. But as you asked, here you go: 

Short version: 
College dropout to launch a SaaS (Smoothies as a Service) in my parent's veranda. 
4 years and 12 employees later, left my smoothie business and joined Odoo as a Consultant in Belgium then Dubai. 
Consultant job was fun but sales seemed appealing too, back to Belgium as an Account Executive at Overloop. 
Currently Head of Sales at Leexi.ai, unlocking human potential with AI


Long Version:
I am currently Sales Lead at Leexi, a SaaS company that provides AI-powered solutions to improve your productivity. I'm in charge of growing the revenue and the customer base.

I was the founding Account Executive at Overloop. I have successfully closed dozens (110+) of deals with clients across various industries and regions while creating the entire inbound sales process from scratch. I also collaborated a lot with the product team to provide feedback and insights on the solution.

Before joining Overloop, I was a Business Analyst and Coach at Odoo, where I helped SMEs and startups implement and optimize their ERP systems. I got the chance to work in the HQ in Belgium when the consultant team was only about 60 people and then got mandated to the Dubai office that was only 3 years old to help with their fast growth. 

I'm really grateful to have that consultant experience as I believe it makes be a better sales person! 

I also co-founded and led Befoody (initially Befruity). It all started with a smoothies subscription business in my parent's veranda, getting my 100 first clients with cold calling. After 4 years, we were a team of 12, delivering between 400 and 800 healthy lunchs daily. As you may know, issues between co-founders is one of the biggest reason of startup failure, I left Befoody because of that.

I just spent 2 full days in the middle of the Belgian Ardennes. 🌲

No Slack. No noise. Just nature… and a room full of ridiculously good entrepreneurs.

Founders doing €3M, €5M, €10M ARR.

I think I’ve lived the transition enough times now that I might actually have something valuable to share.

I’ve been:
	•	a founder who dropped out, grew from 0 to 12 employees
	•	with one salesperson under me
	•	then worked in a scale-up with thousands of colleagues
	•	and today I lead a 15-person sales team after being hired as the first salesperson and living the shift from founder-led → sales-led from the inside

And I’m genuinely excited because I feel like I’m starting to see the real mechanics behind this transition.

Not theory.

The actual stuff that makes it work.

This week, I coached one of my AEs on a call replay.


And we spent 20 minutes coaching… the first 3 minutes of the meeting.

Because that’s where deals are won or lost.

Scene 1: The “tour de table” trap

Prospect: “Shall we do a quick round of intros?”
AE: “Yes, that’s what I was going to propose.”

It looks polite. It feels collaborative.

But it silently kills your momentum.

Why?

Because a tour de table often becomes:
	•	2–3 minutes of people repeating what you could have found on LinkedIn
	•	a power dynamic where you’re “the vendor who waits”
	•	a generic start that forces you into… a generic demo

Scene 2: The missed flex (and it’s not ego)

In our coaching session, I stopped the replay and told my rep: “You just had the perfect moment to show you’re a pro.”

Not by talking about yourself. But by showing you did your homework.

Here’s what “good” looks like:

“Before we go around the table, just to save you time, I did my prep.
Pierre, I saw you lead IS, so I assume you’re driving tool strategy + governance.
Céline, I saw you’re Executive Assistant to the CEO, so I’m guessing your use case is CODIR minutes + seminar summaries.
Tell me what I got wrong… and what matters most today.”

That’s not a gimmick.

That’s positioning:
	•	you’re not “here to sell”
	•	you’re here to diagnose and guide
	•	you’re already thinking like a partner

Scene 3: The pre-game actually decides the demo

In this same call, the prospect dropped gold:
- We’re Microsoft environment
- We need granular control
- We have regulated professions so we need strict information cloisonnement.”
- We’re 3 vendors in shortlist.”
- We’ll start with a pilot, then scale to 700 people.

If you’re prepared, you instantly know what your demo must become:

✅ show Teams integration
✅ show admin settings + governance (who receives what, when, per team/user)
✅ show security + compartmentalization
✅ confirm pilot plan + decision process
✅ tailor the story to a DSI/CIO, not to an end-user

If you’re not prepared, you do what most reps do:

A clean, generic and very boring product tour.

And the CIO leaves thinking:
“Nice tool. Not sure you really understand our risk.”

The lesson I keep repeating to my team

Closing starts before the call!

The first minutes decide:
	•	trust
	•	authority
	•	pace
	•	and whether the prospect sees you as a vendor… or a partner

A simple routine (please steal it)

Before any (strategic) meeting, write a 1-page “pre-game”:
	1.	Who’s in the room (roles + influence)
	2.	Top 3 hypotheses (use cases + risks)
	3.	The 5 words you want to hear (pilot, shortlist, security, integration, timeline)
	4.	Your opening script (60 seconds, prepared)
	5.	Your demo plan

Then start your call like a pro: 

Not with “Nice to meet you.”

But with: “Here’s what I understood, please correct me.”

The best closers don’t “wing” the first 3 minutes.
They win them.
