Senior Account Executive, Sales Incubation

Sales Incubation is a newly launched motion within the Revenue org to support our sales team in providing the best experience with our customers. By designing effective playbooks, talk tracks, cadences, value props, and virtually every other piece of the Go-To-Market strategy for new products and bundles.

My role consists of trialling new products in the market to understand demand and market fit, both in existing and new customers. We then take this feedback and research to build the GTM strategy for these products to handoff to the wider Revenue Org.

- Developed NotebookLM AI tool to observe and analyze of hundreds of sales calls to greatly reduce the time needed to comprehend a sales motion's effectiveness
- Pioneered usage of Google Gemini to build sales decks and customer presentations at speed

I’ve known Justin Panian since middle school.  We spent a year as roomates, chasing pow days in Mammoth - selling snowboards at Wave Rave.

Sales Development is at a crossroad. 


Chatted it up with some of the best in the business last night at the SDR Leaders of USA event in Denver last night. 

A few thoughts…

AI is here, being used effectively and some orgs are still treating it as optional. 🤯

Some orgs are leveraging it in a smart way. They have a dedicated AI Lead who is empowering their company with workflows, prompts, and staying on the leading edge of what the alpha is. 🧠 (some might call this a GTM Engineer)

Allowing your BDRs and AEs to select their own accounts and contacts is widespread and a terrible business decision.  This should come from the top down… and be empowered by AI assisted scoring models.  

Free your reps to actually sell things!  


Sending emails from your primary domain is common, yet nobody is looking at their infrastructure on why reply rates are sub 2% … usually because they don’t know what to look for. 🤔


The predictable revenue playbook is still being used today because most CROs and CEOs fear what they don’t know.  

Like a bad relationship, there’s comfort in the devil you know… even if it leads to your demise. 

There’s a better way heading into 2026.


A leader’s #1 priority is taking care of your people and doing that requires you to coach up and tell your boss the things they don’t wanna hear.  

If your boss doesn’t trust you enough to listen and take action, you’re getting a new boss. That’ll be voluntary or involuntary, but it’ll happen to one (or both)of you.

Most SDR teams are trapped in this cycle and don't even know it...


I've seen this exact cycle destroy good people's careers when the fix was always infrastructure and process, not talent.

Here's how it works...

Stage 1: Send from main domain 
"We'll just be careful with volume" they say. Thousands of emails from yourcompany[DOT]com because "it builds trust."

Stage 2: Deliverability tanks, Open rates look decent at 70%. 
Reply rates? 0.5% if you're lucky. 
Everything's landing in spam, but the dashboard looks fine.

Stage 3: Blame the symptoms "Our copy must suck." "We need better targeting." "Let's try a new subject line approach."

Stage 4: Fire the SDR leader "Not enough pipeline generated." New hire comes in, same infrastructure, same problems.

Stage 5: Fire the VP of Sales, Few months later, still no meaningful improvement. "We need fresh blood and new strategies."

Stage 6: Fire the CRO, Year later, business is missing revenue targets. "Time for a complete sales overhaul."

Stage 7: Repeat the cycle - New leadership, same broken infrastructure. The real problem never gets addressed.

Meanwhile, your main domain is torched. Missing investor intros, customer referrals, partnership emails - hundreds of thousands in opportunity cost.

A Better Way:
→ Domain diversification (1/3 SMTP, 1/3 Microsoft, 1/3 Google) 
→ Infrastructure first, messaging second 
→ Test deliverability before scaling volume 
→ Constant monitoring and adjustment

Your reply rates aren't low because of bad copy. They're low because nobody's seeing your emails.

Time is circular... not linear


It's easier to fit narratives and stories into: Past >> Present >> Future (linear)

The reality is closer to a cycle of patterns, like seasons in nature - they repeat (circular)


With 15 days left in Q3 sellers might be stressed about your number...

Buyers know this and are gonna squeeze you for the best possible terms.

It doesn't have to be that way.


These trees are letting go of their leaves because they know new ones will come around.  

Why not treat your sales pipeline the same way?  If your client needs what you have, and you make it easy to buy it... they'll sign.  

If not, you're wasting your time and energy jumping through hoops, hoping they will.  Let them go - they'll come back around when/if the time is right. 


What if you had a process and a full pipeline that didn't rely on the EOQ discount machine?
