Senior Revenue Enablement Leader | Driving Growth Through Coaching & Co-Elevation Strategies

Ten years ago, I had zero SaaS experience.

Today, I’m building the enablement programs that help our revenue organisation scale.

Here’s what changed—and what I learned about career progression:

The Journey 

I started as Agorapulse’s first Account Executive, creating our SMB sales process from scratch when everything was founder-led and self-service.

Each promotion brought new complexity: 

Director of Sales (doubled revenue with a small team)
Senior Director (built scalable playbooks), Head of Sales (expanded internationally and into mid-market)

We achieved YoY growth every single year. I’m incredibly proud of that.

The Pivot

Then I made what felt like the hardest decision of my career. 

I stepped away from being directly responsible FOR revenue.

But it was the right move. For me. For Agorapulse.

Because I wanted the team to win. 

And my experience hit a ceiling for what was needed next. 

And sometimes winning requires the humility to recognize where you can create the most impact.

That pivot became the turning point. 

I shifted from driving revenue to enabling it and building frameworks, processes, and strategies that help our teams succeed.

The Pattern I’ve Noticed:

The promotions didn’t come from just executing my current role well.

They came from already developing the skills my next role would require.

While I was an AE, I was thinking and learning like a director. While leading sales, I was building enablement systems.

My advice if you’re aiming for your next role:

Don’t wait for the opportunity to appear. 

Start building the competencies now. There may not be an opening. You may not feel ready. But you’re investing in future you.

Every experience, even the challenging pivots, becomes qualification for what’s next.

What’s meant for you won’t pass you by. 

But you influence that outcome by how you show up today.

I’ve always got my eye on investing in myself and being of value. 

It’s served me well, and it’ll serve you well too.

This week, I ran my first fully remote Revenue Team Kickoff (RKO). 

And the more I do these events, the more I see the value and importance that enablement plays in bringing our people together. 

We had a good mix of speakers, success stories and celebration and fun. 

I’m so proud to be part of our revenue team and that I get to be the one to bring them all together.

The hardest sentence I’ve ever said professionally:

“I’m not the right person to take us to the next level.”

My ego wanted to prove I could do it.

My integrity knew the team deserved better.

Here’s what I learned about sustainable leadership:

Self-awareness beats stubbornness every time.

Great leaders don’t just build, they know when to step aside for the team win. 

After hitting our targets year after year, I recognized my experience had a ceiling for what was needed next.

Did it sting? 

Absolutely.

Was it the right call? 

Without question.

Because leadership isn’t about proving you can do everything.

It’s about ensuring the right things get done, even if you’re not the one doing them.

That shift freed me to focus on what I do best: building systems that help others win.

You are bigger than your frustrations.

That’s a lesson I’ve learned repeatedly while working in fast-paced, high-expectation environments.

One of the most important skills I’ve developed as a leader is emotional regulation, not because emotions don’t belong at work, but because how we manage them directly affects decision-making, trust, and results.

Unchecked reactions can quietly derail progress, relationships, and momentum.

Early in my career, I heard feedback  like:
	•	“Don’t be so reactive.”
	•	“Try not to take it personally.”
	•	“Pick your battles.”

Well-meaning advice, but rarely paired with how to actually do that in the moment.

So over time, I built a framework I rely on when I feel emotionally triggered at work:

1. Pause before responding.

Most situations don’t require immediacy. Creating space allows clarity to replace impulse.

2. Widen the lens.

I ask myself what pressures or priorities the other person may be navigating. Context often explains behavior.

3. Change perspective.

I try to see the situation from their seat, what they’re accountable for, what they might be missing, or what success looks like to them.

4. Clarify the outcome.

Before responding, I ask: What do I actually want to achieve here?
Alignment? Clarity? Progress? Resolution?

5. Identify the level of the issue.

Is this a me issue, a we issue, or a system issue?

That distinction prevents overreacting, and ensures the right problem gets solved.

6. Respond intentionally or let it go.

If it still matters after reflection, I address it thoughtfully.
If it doesn’t move the work forward, I let it go.

Do I get it right all the time? Hell, no! 🤣

The biggest shift for me has been realizing that emotional regulation isn’t about suppressing emotion, it’s about leading with intention instead of impulse.

That discipline has made me a better teammate, a clearer communicator, and a more effective leader in high-pressure environments.

And honestly, it’ll always be a work in progress for me. My high sensitivity and care factor makes me who I am and it’s what drives me a lot of the time. 

We all need to have compassion for ours and others emotions in the work place.

Most AI transformations fail for the same reason change initiatives fail.
