Most scaffold designers fall into the first category.

They get a job as graduate designer, with a big pay cut.

Someone will explain briefly how to use AutoCAD, and give you an access scaffold to draw: plans, sections, tie details…

Even if you can draw the scaffold, you don’t know why you did it like that.

•	Phase 3, you’ll put everything together to calculate an access scaffold.
•	Phase 4, you’ll continue to practice with other types of scaffolds: bridges, cantilevers, free-standing…
•	Phase 5, you’ll make sure the information (drawings and calculations) is easy to understand, so the scaffolders don't call you.
