In 2009, Lawrence formed the Lawrence C. Ng Family Foundation, a grant-making organization dedicated to supporting non-profits whose mission is to create brighter futures for underprivileged youths through education, mentorship, and career guidance. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the John V. Lindsay Wildcat Academy Charter School, an alternative high school that enables students who have dropped out of traditional high schools to obtain a high school diploma. Through the foundation, Lawrence is also a proud supporter of the Joshua House Health Center, a new three-story community health clinic in the heart of Skid Row in Los Angeles.

He is a graduate of the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California.
