Building Credible Personal Brands for Founders & Investors | LinkedIn & X | North America • UK • Dubai • India

𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭.

It was not because I had some plan.

Not because I wanted to build a “personal brand.”

I was just… confused.

About my career, direction, and what I was actually good at.

So what I did is I started writing.

Whatever I was thinking.
Whatever I was noticing about work, money, people, ambition.

I didn’t really care… 

I kept writing because it helped me think better.

Somewhere along the way, people started remembering my name.

Then DMs started coming in. Nothing crazy at first. Just small conversations.

But those conversations turned into:

~ freelance work
~ consulting
~ long-term clients
~ partnerships
~ opportunities I never applied for

That’s when it hit me.

LinkedIn isn’t just a place to post. It’s a place where people decide what they think about you.

Before they ever talk to you.
Before they ever hop on a call.
Before they ever ask what you charge.

I didn’t “go viral and blow up.”

I just showed up for a long time.

And over time, LinkedIn became my biggest source of:

I don’t list everything that’s included in my package.

Not because I’m hiding anything. But because I don’t want the relationship to start with a long checklist.

So I share the core scope. They say yes.

We start working. And then I naturally do a bit more than what was discussed.

An extra idea here.
A tweak there.
A better structure.
A faster turnaround.
A sharper suggestion.

Just enough for them to think:

“Oh… she didn’t have to do that.”

That feeling matters.

Most people try to win clients by promising the world. Then they spend the next few months stressed, behind, and explaining.

I’d rather do the opposite.

Say less. Do more.

It keeps expectations clean, keeps trust high, and makes clients feel like they chose right.

That’s it. There’s no “secret sauce.”

Just being slightly better than what you promised. Consistently.
(If you do extra just for the beginning, that’s also a problem)

You don’t have any clue how algorithm works. (No one has 100% knowledge because it keeps changing but basics should be strong and staying updated is necessary) 

You don’t comment. You don’t network consistently. You have unoptimized profile.

But who told you that personal brand is only for people who are struggling?

That logic makes no sense.

You don’t start going to the gym after you become fat.
(A lot of you do that but that’s a different thing) 

You don’t start saving money after you’re broke.

So why do you want to start building trust only when business slows down?

By the time personal branding becomes your need, it will be too late. 

It takes time to build:

~ familiarity
~ trust
~ recall
~ reputation

The founders you see getting inbound deals today?

They didn’t get lucky. They showed up consistently when they didn’t “need” anything.

That’s the whole point.

Personal brand is not a rescue tool.
It’s your compounding asset.

You build it when things are good.

So that when things get hard, it saves you.

There’s a difference between sharing your story and dumping your emotions for attention.

One helps people.
The other just asks for sympathy.

When you share something real, in a way that:
• helps someone avoid a mistake
• gives a new perspective
• inspires action
• or is simply worth reading

that’s storytelling.

But posting every bad day, every minor setback, every “life is unfair” moment just to get engagement?

That is not going to help you in any way… and let me be very clear, you’re not getting business this way.

People don’t work with you because they feel sorry for you.

They work with you because they trust your thinking, your experience, and your ability to handle real problems.

Be honest, yes.
Be vulnerable, yes.

But have a point.
Have a takeaway.
Have something in it for the reader.

Otherwise, you’re just oversharing…
and calling it storytelling.

And LinkedIn deserves better than that.

Why are you not able to understand this small thing that is literally making you lose opportunities?

You are posting on LinkedIn. But you’re not taking care of:

~ writing in a readable manner
~ writing a strong hook
~ adding a CTA

Then you complain:

“LinkedIn doesn’t work.”

Of course it doesn’t.

Because nobody is even reading your posts. 
(Don’t get offended… or maybe you should)

Most of your content looks like one long paragraph.

There is no spacing, flow, or any reason to stop scrolling.

And after that…

You don’t even do basic optimisation.

Why is your About section written like a resume summary?
