Deal Armstrong

With my business partner David Solesbee (founder/owner), I helped build out and grow a small business marketing organization that previously existed within five markets in Northeast Georgia into establishing repeat business presence in northwest South Carolina and southwest North Carolina.

Sold online and print marketing resources to small businesses of a variety of industry across ten months with the organization before accepting an offer and entering into agency recruitment.  (Recruited David as well into the organization, where he has since thrived.)

Promoted to new role after six months of service, with focus of selling directly to banks of 1.5B in assets or less a newly-devised product geared toward helping them manage their ALLL (Allowance for Loan and Lease Loss) processes.

- Sold to quota expectations in 2013 calendar year prior to leaving in January 2014.
- Conceived, designed, implemented, and executed national quarterly webinar program, holding online educational events scaling to 200+ banks nationwide in informational seminars re: managing at-risk portfolios
- Established company-wide marketing database, growing contacts list from just over 3,000 upon beginning to over 19,000 active, managed contacts upon leaving January 2014.
- Executed extensive email marketing plans using MailChimp and other resources during tenure in this role, geared toward selling not only my product, but MST's entire portfolio.
- Targeted executive leaders in banks from East Coast to Hawaii via online and cold call methods, pitching and demonstrating product via live demonstrations.

Accepted offer from CEO of organization to join MST in March 2012

Intially engaged in role responsible for lead generation/business development to aid VP Sales in selling flagship product, MST's award-winning Loan Loss Analyzer, which is sold to banks spanning up to 20B in assets nationwide.

- Established marketing presence with banks in Mountain and Pacific time zones, as well as in Alaska and Hawaii
- Helped crack into relationships with several large national banks, allowing us to establish presence and penetrate market in new areas not previously held
- Ran demonstrations and presentations of product, coordinated marketing campaigns and calendar schedule, answered direct questions whenever needed, and guided large scale transactions through the initial phases of discussion

Received promotion to CareerBuilder's Trust and Site Security Team in October 2008, and held position until departure from organization in March 2012.

Managed security and monitoring of Careerbuilder.com website and brand, working to ensure candidates and clients met compliance with corporate rules and regulations and to prevent fraudulent activity both within our resources and fraudulent use of our company name through third-party means, i.e. prevention of phishing, payment processing, and shipping/forwarding scams bearing our company name.  Conducted domestic and international investigations of misuse of company resources and brand, as well as communicating findings to internal and external business leaders.  Corresponded with federal and law enforcement agencies on an as-needed basis.

Founded an internal focus group that spanned all key internal departments in streamlining communication of fraudulent activity bearing our brand or misuse of our resources.  Conducted monthly training sessions with customer-facing new hires in the organization, teaching them best practices in prevention of compromised accounts, steps to identifying false use of our brand, and security interaction within our organization.

Managed a book of business surpassing 10m in accounts, working mostly with small-to-medium sized recruiting agencies across the Midwest and Northeast.  

Worked hand-in-hand with a diverse team of executive leadership, sales representatives, and internal customer service personnel in leading client trainings (remote and on-site), identifying business solutions enhancing customer product line, creation of new solutions, etc. while also handling account management and maintenance duties and being a front of service in troubleshooting issues with the website.

In addition to serving clientele and internal representatives from a hands-on perspective, played a key role in various internal initiatives from a research, testing, and refining process, including but not exclusive to:

Most of my career has been spent in IT recruitment, but I've also worked a variety of other industries.  I've got Engineering/Supply Chain, Accounting/Finance, Marketing, Data/Information Management, Human Resources, and Executive-level recruitment experience, as well, with placements ranging from entry level individuals into the executive suite, spanning organizations from start-ups and small, niche organizations to globally-known brands and the Fortune 50.
