I was a Senior Software Engineer in the Kutumb team building amazing microservices for the next generation of community-oriented social media in India.

Worked on social media feed algorithms and recommendation systems. Primary tech was Javascript, MySQL, Redis, Cassandra, SNS, SQS, Docker, and Kubernetes. I significantly improved the code quality and wrote reliable APIs that were used by millions of users.

Worked on every aspect of the Kutumb backend services along with the internal content management system used by the Dev, Support and Ops team.

Working on Tokoko's backend services. Tokoko is a product similar to Shopify and it allows sellers to set up their digital stores and upload product data and manage inventory. Along with a few other engineers I own the backend infra and services for Tokoko.

Software Development Engineer II

Loyalty Service:
• It’s a multi-tenant, distributed microservice. Tenants can use this service to send events to award loyalty points or cashback rewards to merchants. Business can use this service to schedule multiple loyalty campaigns with custom rules.
• Designed and built the loyalty service from scratch, and owned the implementation of the campaign management system that reduced manual campaign reward efforts by the business team.
• This service was used by multiple tenants and saw 100k+ daily Kafka message ingestion and processing with a minimal error rate and downtime.
• Tech Stack – Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, AWS ECS, Docker.

BukuWarung Android app:
• Bukuwarung app is a payment and bookkeeping app used by 7M+ Indonesian merchants.
• Implemented and owned end-to-end development of POS feature for merchants in the App which
was used by 100k+ merchants to record their POS transactions.
• Developed Continuous Delivery pipeline for android builds using firebase app distribution and Github
actions for dev, staging, and prod which subsequently reduced dependency on developers to give builds to QAs and PMs and saved 100+ hours for engineers per month. This was later used across multiple teams.
• Tech Stack – Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, Firebase, Dagger, Github Actions, Amplitude.

• I was the first mobile engineer in the team and worked mainly on designing and implementing a server-driven UI architecture for android and iOS apps.
• Worked on the native server-driven android app and iOS apps using Kotlin, Kotlin Multiplatform for mobile, SQLDelight, and Swift.
• Developed server-driven applications that render the UI based on the UI
specification from the server for both android and iOS.
• Implemented dynamic customer application forms based on the server response.
• Deployed client's android application on the play store.
• Implemented dynamic user onboarding forms for iOS using Swift.
• Implemented a shared business logic codebase for both android and iOS using Kotlin Multiplatform for Mobile for API calls and database operations.

Worked as Google Code-In mentor for OpenWISP open source project. I helped in assigning and evaluating tasks to the participants in the program.

I'm a hobbyist programmer(Started 12+ years back in high school with PHP on a local Wampserver, using my router to route traffic from my free .tk domains to my local server, that was my version of DevOps). By Profession, I'm also a Software Engineer focused on building scalable distributed systems and evolvable architectures. I'm passionate about engineering in general and have a general curiosity about every aspect of it, whether it's designing systems, mentoring engineers, or people management.
