But the biggest ROI from the agency update has been something personal for me:

I added my grandparents to the email so they can get a peek into what I’m building.

Both of my grandfathers were legit business men.

One of them built and sold an insurance firm.

The other was a President for Xerox in the mid 2000s. 

My grandpa who worked at Xerox received our agency update on Friday, where I shared a little bit about our sales process.

Here’s something ground breaking:

If you want your brand to be witty on socials, the person making the content needs to be witty.

If you want your brand to be polished on socials, the person making the content needs to be polished.

If you want your brand to be unhinged on socials, the person making the content needs to be unhinged.

Luckily all of these are skills that can be learned.

But companies seem to overlook the importance of matching the talent they hire for social media with their goals of how they want to show up on socials.

Don’t expect the vet marketer you hired in 2018 who isn’t clever, to suddenly create clever content for your niche brand overnight because you decided you want to take a page our of Ryan Air’s book.

Like anything, it’s a skill that needs to be built.

Paid is the shorter term solution.

I've audited content strategies for dozens of coaches over the past few weeks. 

The pattern is consistent: they post about what they do, 

Not about the specific problems they solve or who they solve them for.

And they get thousands of impressions, dozens of likes BUT zero qualified leads.

Because real positioning isn't about being seen. 

It's about being remembered for solving one specific thing better than anyone else. 

Here's how to fix it:

1. Stop rotating topics randomly

Pick three core themes that directly tie to your paid offers. 

Every post should reinforce one of these three areas. 

Your audience needs to associate you with specific expertise, not general wisdom.

2. Lead with questions, not declarations

Asking thoughtful questions about challenges signals expertise more authentically than stating your credentials. 

It shows you've wrestled with real problems, not just read about them.

3. Take clear stances on industry debates 

Positioning requires opinions. 

If you agree with everyone, you stand for nothing. 

Choose your lane and defend it with specific examples from your work, not theory.

4. Build a content ecosystem, not isolated posts 

Reference your previous insights. 

Connect ideas across posts. 

This creates a cohesive body of work that demonstrates depth, not just surface-level commentary.

5. Track business conversations, not engagement metrics 

Which posts led to actual client inquiries? 

That's your positioning content. 

Double down on those themes and retire everything else.

Positioned content converts and visible content just gets scrolled past.

Most coaches lose clients before they ever close them.

It’s not that the market is slow. 

It’s just that people can’t see the value you bring yet.

When I shifted from sharing casually to driving inbound business on LinkedIn, these five strategies made the transition inevitable:

1) Shared specific wins every week. 

Results got attention, not empty advice. Case numbers, campaigns, even small gains, each post was tied to real ROI.

2) Showed my process, not just outcomes. 

Readers saw how I got results, not just the highlights. Transparency built trust faster than hype.

3) Followed up on every signal. 

A like, a comment, a click, each became a reason to start strong conversations. No one slipped through unnoticed.

4) Asked for business openly. 

Framed every post to invite action without apology. If someone wanted growth, they knew what to do next.

5) Mapped out weekly visibility. 

Planned my posts and engagement like client delivery. No wasted motion, only moves that led to new leads and signed deals.

It took real discipline.

Clients started seeking out the person with proof, not the one with presence.
And that’s the part most people underestimate.

Clients decide to work with you in three seconds

And your profile decides it for you.

A lot of career coaches do great work, but their LinkedIn profile doesn’t show it.

And that’s usually why inbound leads never pick up.

It’s not a skill issue; it’s the way the profile is positioned.

1. The Headline

Most coaches use their headline to describe who they are, not what they do.

A headline like “Career Coach | Resume Writer | Interview Prep” blends into the feed because it explains roles, not results.

Your headline should tell people the transformation you help them achieve. 

That’s the line that gets someone to click your profile instead of skipping past it.

2. The About Section

This is where most people write their life story or a long list of qualifications.

But clients don’t read your About to get to know you, they read it to see if you understand the problem they’re trying to solve.

A strong About section talks to the reader first, then shows them your process, your wins, and why you’re someone they can trust.

When this part is written well, people feel like you’re already helping them before they even reach out.

3. The Featured Section
Most coaches either leave this section empty or fill it with random links.

Your Featured section is supposed to act like your storefront.

It should highlight your best proof, case studies, client wins, testimonials, or a free resource that warms people up.

When someone lands on your profile and sees real results, they instantly understand why your work matters.

When these three sections work together, your profile becomes a funnel, not a formality.

People don’t just see what you do, they understand why they need it.

And that’s when inbound leads start showing up without you having to chase them.

People keep saying attention is everything.

But the truth is, getting attention isn’t the hard part now. 
Almost anyone can do that.

What most people struggle to earn is trust.

AI can generate posts all day.

And plenty of marketers know how to look polished without actually delivering anything meaningful.

But no one can fake consistency, credibility, or real results for very long. 
Those things always show through.

We’re not dealing with a shortage of content.

We’re dealing with a shortage of belief.

And that’s where a lot of people lose momentum.

They chase reach and forget about retention.

They post every day, but the audience doesn’t hold on to anything they say.

The real advantage now isn’t attention for the sake of it.
 
It’s attention that lasts, the kind that comes from proof, not just presence.

Clients notice that difference immediately.

So do teams, collaborators, and the market as a whole.

People trust the professionals who show up with intention and back their message with real work.

I analyzed a personal brand that hit 10M+ organic views in 4 weeks.

Turns out, viral growth isn't about luck or timing. 

It's about five specific decisions they made in week one that most people skip entirely.

Here's the breakdown of what actually worked for them:

1. They picked three themes and stuck to them 

-This brand talked about three things only, skipping the random topics and trend chasing. 
-Every post reinforced one of these three areas. 
-Within weeks, people knew exactly what they stood for.

2. They built one signature framework 

-Instead of sharing scattered insights, they created a repeatable methodology and referenced it constantly. 
-This turned them from another voice into a recognizable authority with intellectual property.

It’s just how the algorithm works.

It mainly tracks one thing: how long someone stays before they scroll away.

That’s what we call dwell time.

A lot of career coaches lose reach not because their knowledge is lacking, but because they jump straight into teaching.

They share frameworks, tips, and strategies before they’ve built any emotional connection with the reader.

So even if the post is helpful, it doesn’t hold anyone’s attention long enough for LinkedIn to push it further.

People connect with something that makes them feel seen first, and then they’re ready to learn from you.

And LinkedIn rewards that because it reflects how real conversations work.

It’s all about writing in a way that makes someone pause and think, “Oh, this is for me.”

When your reader feels understood, they stay a little longer.

When they stay longer, the algorithm takes it as a signal that your content is worth showing to more people.
