We all apologize. But how many of us actually heal with it?

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼

When I returned to India,
I didn’t have the courage to face the people I grew up around.

I felt like a complete failure and felt like my life was going backwards. 
More than 5 years have passed.

I avoided eye contact.
Avoided conversations.
Avoided places that once felt like home.

And then, a few weeks ago, my neighbour, the man I’ve always called Hero, turned 86.

Why Hero?
Because he was always kind.
Always impeccably dressed,
even if he was just going for an evening walk.
A quiet gentleman with old-school charm.I hadn’t seen him in years.

But on his birthday, I showed up.
And what I received…
was only warmth.
Only smiles.
Only blessings.
No questions.
No judgement.

At that moment, I saw my parents and brother breathe easier too.
Maybe they were tired of carrying it for me.

And I realised, 
Sometimes, we are the only ones still holding on to the past.
 Long after everyone else has let it go.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗜 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗽

It was COVID. One day, my mom asked me to sweep the floor.
I stared at the broom.

Then asked her 10 questions.
About sweeping.
She looked at me like I’d lost my mind.
But to me it felt normal.
Because I hadn’t just forgotten to sweep.

I had forgotten how to write.
How to use Excel.
How to do the simplest tasks.

But here’s the strange part:
I could hear everything.
Feel everything.
Sense everything.

It felt like my senses were sharper 
My mind was more analytical. 
My parents were freaking out.

But I found it amusing.
It felt like being born again.

Like some part of me had been wiped clean…
So something wiser could take its place.

Sometimes, life erases everything you knew… not to break you, but to 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆.

Before people hear your words, they feel your emotions.

And for some, it’s just the ache of being far from home.

Festivals have a way of lighting up the outside world,
and quietly stirring the memories we hold inside.

Almost everyone carries a story behind their smile.

So if this Diwali feels a little heavy,
take a moment to breathe,
to remember,
