If you're a founder building something from absolutely nothing, that's a huge win. It takes courage to bet on yourself and go for it.

Most people never get started at all.

Most always focus on what could go wrong.

Most wish they could take a swing like you.

Give yourself more credit. You're doing great.

Remember that and keep going.

Startups are really hard.

That’s why most people never build one.

Luckily you don't have to be like most people.

Establishing a department that reports directly to the CEO and the Board to identify and report on donations to support the operations of the NGO.
	Developed SOPs to manage fundraising department and reducing donor receipt response time from 1 week to 3 days, also creating clear departmental goals & objectives raising fundraising by 15% from past year’s quarter.
	Development of Donor Database system to record donations and donor details improving donor communication and donation campaign effectiveness by 60% by targeted donor specific campaigns.

Manager Fundraising & Resource Development

Habib University

Hired by the Office of the President to organize the Department of Resource Development and create strong effective communication channels with the 350 existing donors and potential supporters of the university. Generated over PKR 600 million over the course of 1 year by implementing a database management system streamlining the donor conversion channel and managing events. 

	Developed the Resource Development Content Manual to ensure appealing and actionable content is shared with donors and they are actively engaged with the university . 

	Streamlined HU’s donor relations calendar communications to create consistent messaging via email, print and Whatsapp and improving donor participation at events by 120%.

	Conducted 2 Fundraising Events resulting in collection of donations worth PKR 200 million.

Deputy Manager Resource Development

Barrett Hodgson University

Hired by the newly launched university to develop its first marketing campaign and budgeted for 5-year marketing initiatives. Established the university’s brand manual, the student outreach policy and handled a budget of PKR 15 million for strategic marketing measures.

	Managed social media presence with organic growth leading to over 1,150 subscribers on Facebook. Created presence online via developing the official website and with SEO and Google AdWords.

	Developed BHU’s presence at 3 education expos across Pakistan, reaching an audience of over 55,000 students to promote the newly launched university.

	Negotiated and dealt with over 20 vendors to create the university’s merchandizing and vendor management handbook identifying high customer recall, low cost merchandising options.

Assistant Manager Marketing Communications

Edited and published the university’s outreach magazine “The Current” and conducted over 20 events to build relationships with alumni, parents, students and organizations. Ensured cost saving through vendor negotiations and reduced printing expenses by over 30%.

	Created branding for 5 new departments launched at IBA, saving the institution PKR 4.2 million in advertising agency costs.

	Launched IBA’s Virtual Tour to re-engage with alumni and graduates across the world, to display the infrastructural changes and increase alumni engagement, leading to an increase in alumni memberships by 25% and increased contributions towards scholarships (PKR 30 million raised through alumni around the world).

	Built relationships with the media and Press by inviting over 130 media professionals to campus and sharing the journey of IBA in it’s 70 year celebrations.

Always the student, I am currently teaching the next generation of marketers in Pakistan to harness their marketing skills by teaching courses on Brand Management, Sales Management, Consumer Behavior and Social Media Marketing drawing back from my experiences as a Sales Lead at Sony Electronics, an Online Marketer in New York City and a Marketing Professional in Buffalo. I have a year's experience working as a Brand Marketing Intern at Fisher Price (MATTEL INC) where I helped with the launch of a new sales channel for Thomas the Tank Engine Wooden Category and with the product redesign of the Kid Tough Camera.

I am the Sidney N Kahn Memorial Award recipient for 2013 from the State University of New York at Buffalo and have won numerous Case Competitions in Buffalo, USA and Pakistan. As a teacher I ensure my students broaden their minds and question the status quo. If even one student can succeed and think independently, that is the biggest reward for me.
