I started at BuildCorp Commercial in 2011.

Fresh on-site, taking on the basics.

General labouring.

Traffic control.

Cleaning amenities.

But I wasn’t the type to stay in one role.

I kept growing.

Kept earning new qualifications:

Forklift.

Manitou.

Dogman.

OH&S certification.

Early on, I took on the responsibility of being a safety rep.

It was my first step into leadership ensuring a safe working environment and being a voice for the team during toolbox meetings and site discussions.

From there, I progressed into the role of shop steward, representing the workers on-site and acting as a bridge between the builder and the union (CFMEU).

I held that role for over a year, advocating for workers, mediating issues, and driving fair outcomes.

In time, I transitioned back into OH&S, where I spent over two and a half years managing site safety.

It was a role I enjoyed not just for the leadership but because it kept me active.

Whether I was running toolbox meetings, putting up handrails, or operating the materials hoist, I thrived in a role that required movement and problem-solving.

By my final project, I was working with BuildCorp’s sister company, Arc3, as an OH&S rep on a major apartment project in Balwyn.

It was a rewarding end to my time with BuildCorp a chance to lead, solve problems, and work with teams to ensure both safety and success on-site.

Every step of the way, I’ve focused on growth getting a little better every day.

I’m someone who takes pride in hard work, adapting to challenges, and always moving forward.

Which is probably why I decided to start my online fitness business while still working in construction.
