I just automated 4,000 cold emails using Claude Code.

My manager asked me to check in on it after two weeks.

I told him I would check in when the pipeline numbers told me to.

He said that wasn't how check-ins worked.

I have since automated my manager.

Here is what I learned:

Claude Code does not sleep. Claude Code does not ask if the sequence is "feeling a bit aggressive." Claude Code does not reply-all to say it is "just looping in" someone. 

Claude Code wrote 4,000 hyper-personalised first lines referencing each prospect's last earnings call, their LinkedIn banner, and one professional setback they have not fully processed yet.

Open rate: 69%.

Reply rate: 4.20%.

One prospect replied: "How did you know about my father?"

That is a conversation. That is pipeline.

Some people say cold outbound is dead.

Those people are in my sequence.

I used to have a team of three SDRs. I now have a YAML file and a very reasonable API bill. 

I still send the SDRs Slack messages on their birthdays. I have also automated this.

The CRO asked me what my secret was.

I told him: I stopped asking the AI to be less weird.

He nodded for a long time.

We closed a $340k deal last Tuesday. 

The champion on their side said our first email "felt like it was written by someone who had been watching him." 

It was.

Build different. Sequence everything.
