6 Types of Filters in ASP.NET Core

𝗝𝗪𝗧 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗦𝗣.𝗡𝗘𝗧 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗯 𝗔𝗣𝗜

Stateless authentication isn’t magic, it’s JWT. 

And in ASP .NET Core, it’s simpler than you think.

With JWT (JSON Web Token), your Web API can authenticate users without storing sessions.

Once a user logs in, you generate a signed token that carries their identity and claims.

Every subsequent request includes this token, allowing your API to validate it instantly, no database lookups, no session storage.

In ASP .NET Core, you can:
- Generate JWTs using JwtSecurityTokenHandler() and a secure secret key.
- Validate tokens seamlessly with AddJwtBearer() middleware.

This combination makes your API:
- Stateless: Each request authenticates itself.
- Scalable: ideal for distributed or microservice architectures.
- Secure: tokens are digitally signed, time-limited, and verifiable.
