I learned that the hard way. 

I spent 4 years at a company working 70-hour weeks. 
Always “on.” 
Always fixing something. 
Always chasing my tail. 

I thought I was making progress. 

But when the reorg came? 
I didn’t get a promotion. 
I didn’t get a seat at the table. 
I got a redundancy. 

And that hit me. 

It wasn’t about how hard I worked. 
It was about how strategically I moved. 

No one knew the hours I put in. 
No one saw the impact. 
Because I didn’t make it visible.

Some start it still recovering from last year.

In tech, we tend to run hard - until something breaks. Deadlines, deliverables, 12-hour days... And then January arrives and we're expected to "reset."

But clarity doesn’t come from flipping a calendar. It comes from checking in - with yourself.

It’s easy to gt caught up in the certification trap. 

Thinking more certs means you are moving ahead. 

But Certifications don’t guarantee career growth. 

I speak to IT professionals all the time who’ve got: 

✔ AWS 
✔ Azure 
✔ ITIL 
✔ PMP 
✔ Cyber, DevOps, Data... you name it. 

And still - they’re stuck. 
No callbacks. No leadership opportunities. 
No significant raise. 

Why? 

Because they focused only on stacking qualifications... 
But never clarified the strategy behind their career moves. 

What most IT pros don’t realise:

- Positioning > paper. 
- Strategy beats credentials , every time. 
- Who sees your value > how much you know. 

You can have 10+ certifications and still get overlooked. 

if you’re not visible. 

if you can’t clearly articulate your value. 
if your resume and interviews don’t tell the right story. 

Certs open doors but strategy gets you through them.

Intelligence, in all its forms — human, artificial, or collective — is my lifelong fascination. I’ve founded startups, led data-driven turnarounds across LATAM, and authored Homo Algorithmus (Amazon Best-Seller), a reflection on how algorithms reshape our humanity. As an experienced C-Level and professor of AI and Market Intelligence, I operate at the crossroads of strategy, technology, and ethics — turning data into decisions and curiosity into innovation.

Yet my diversity extends far beyond the professional realm. I’m a lifelong musician — a drummer since childhood and a viola caipira player — exploring how rhythm awakens creative neural paths. I’m also a motorcyclist who has traveled the world (Patagonia, Pirenees, China, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Spain, France etc) experiencing scents, temperatures, and silences few have known. I speak several languages (including chinese Mandarim, as  I lived in BeiJing for three years) and practice sports like  kitesurf, because I believe every new movement, sound, or word expands the way I think.

These experiences built a mind that is analytical yet poetic, disciplined yet open — a learner who thrives in ambiguity and reinvention. They taught me that true intelligence is multisensory and multidimensional: it listens as much as it calculates.

VALOR ECONÔMICO - Marketing IAnalytics

Saiu hoje, no Valor Econômico, meu artigo sobre a convergência entre Marketing, Inteligência Artificial e Machine Learning.

Nele apresento um neologismo que criei, e desenvolvi no Homo Algorithmus, para traduzir o que entendo como o novo marketing: Marketing IAnalytics.

Esse conceito parte da premissa de que o marketing deixa de ser um campo predominantemente criativo para se tornar essencialmente analítico, impulsionado por IA e Machine Learning. Tecnologias capazes de aplicar estatística avançada para prever comportamentos, antecipar tendências de consumo, operar em escala e entregar hiperpersonalização, entre muitos outros outputs estratégicos.

Recomendo a leitura para profissionais de marketing — e para qualquer líder cujo negócio seja impactado, direta ou indiretamente, por decisões de marketing.

Eu sempre usei o modelo "The middle messy model"do Google para embasar minhas decisões e estratégias de marketing...mas, eu vejo que os dias desse excelente modelo estão contados. 

Essa semana que se inicia eu vou lançar uma série de textos e artigos sobre o que eu entendo ser o novo modelo: O Agentic Core, ou Jornada Agêntica.

Nesse modelo eu proponho uma mudança radical no modelo de consumo digital, substituindo o conceito de "Messy Middle" pela nova "Jornada Agêntica". 

Nessa transição, o papel do consumidor evolui de um pesquisador exausto por excesso de informações para um supervisor de intenções, delegando o esforço de busca e análise a agentes de IA autônomos. 

Esse processo, chamado de descarregamento cognitivo, permite que a tecnologia processe dados complexos e execute transações de forma invisível para o usuário. Como consequência, as empresas devem abandonar o SEO tradicional em favor da otimização para sistemas inteligentes, focando em dados estruturados e APIs. 

O meu estudo conclui que a era da economia da atenção está dando lugar a uma economia da utilidade, onde a eficiência algorítmica elimina as fricções do varejo digital.

A forma como tomamos decisões de compra está mudando.

Meu artigo no Terra  mostra que, em minha tese, o fantástico modelo do “messy middle” do Google já não explica mais a jornada do consumidor diante da IA generativa e dos agentes autônomos.

O esforço de busca e comparação sai das mãos do consumidor e passa para sistemas inteligentes. O humano define a intenção; a IA executa a curadoria.

Para marcas, profissionais de marketing, produto e estratégia, a pergunta deixa de ser “como chamar atenção?”
E passa a ser: “como ser escolhido pelos sistemas que decidem junto com o consumidor?”
