Pliteq Inc. is an international supplier of recycled products to the construction industry specializing in high-performing, cost-effective acoustical products to ensure building code is met for sound transmission. The company recycles over 5 million scrap tires annually, keeping these tires out of landfill and improving quality of life for those living in multifamily buildings throughout the world.

I reported to the CEO and led the people, legal, marketing and administrative functions for our sales-centric team of almost 200 individuals in 8 countries around the world. During my time at Pliteq I was part of a 20%+ revenue push each year and we were recognized annually as one of Canada’s Fastest Growing companies. In 2019 we were named a Deloitte Best Managed company. I was proud to be part of a dynamic team of smart, committed and fun individuals making innovative products out of recycled car tires.

WXN is a leading organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of women in executive roles in Canada and Ireland. Historically WXN created and delivered innovative diversity and inclusion programming, networking opportunities, mentoring, professional and personal development to inform, inspire, connect and recognize its community of over 20,000 smart women and their organizations. 

I was responsible for overseeing the operations of 75+ annual events, content and communications, speaker relations portfolio, peer and one-on-one mentoring program, and direct liaison for the Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner community of 1,000+ executives across Canada. I provided operational relationship management to key partners (CIBC, TELUS, Davy [Ireland], Postmedia.)

Canadian Cancer Society

A national, community-based organization of 140,000 volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.

Led the ground work to establish the 75th Anniversary project. Successfully rallied national senior leadership to shape the the framework, the project plan and the required resources during a highly-saturated and competitive period in the charitable sector. Managed a historical research project to shape the Society's history from a national perspective, and worked with a leading Toronto firm to develop the logo and vision for the 75th anniversary creative.

Responsible for the Premier Events portfolio in Toronto, including the management, logistics, coordination and marketing for 5 annual events. 

Resurrected the Kingsway Christmas House Tour, leveraged the popularity of HGTV show "Home Heist" for an event with Colin & Justin, and managed the annual sold-out Colon Cancer Gala which in 2017 surpassed $1M in funds raised for cancer research. Helped secure partnerships such as Hero Burger, serving an amazing 2,000 burgers in one night at two separate Relay sites in Toronto.

Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada (Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation)

Willow provided free-of-cost support, insight and information to anyone affected by breast cancer, merging in 2016 with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF). Managed full-spectrum development portfolio including special events, such as Willow’s annual signature event, Eat to the Beat, raising record funds in 2007 and 2008,  third party events, volunteer and donor stewardship, AGM coordination, direct mail and sponsorship/partner engagement.

Royal Society of Medicine

Managed continuing education for five medical “sections” including Orthopedics and General Practice for one of the largest providers of continuing medical education in the UK. Conceived of and executed multiple events, including management of the Society’s highest-profile event, the week-long GP Forum attended by 400 doctors from the UK and Europe.

London-based technical production company providing lighting, sound, video and set design for events. Created custom event solutions for firms (BP Oil, Bentley, Royal Bank of Scotland), working with events staff of many prestigious venues, including the Natural History Museum and Kensington Palace.

I am what they call a 'generalist'. I've centered my career in socially-responsible organizations. I've been told I'm adaptable to audiences of any size and seniority. Someone once called me a chameleon and I took that as a compliment!

I have a balanced left/right brain which is great except when feeling pulled by both sides. 

I'm a big fan of collaboration. I have been fortunate enough to work with, and lead, some awesome, collaborative teams. I focus on strong communication to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. 

I've been a project manager, lead for business operations [including people lead, marketing, legal, finance and sales], a CSR champion and a relationship manager. I've planned/executed large-scale events and been a part of the creative collateral design process, fundraising, and vendor relations.

Also, I'm double-jointed. Sometimes I forget that and horrify people in meetings. 

My kryptonite? LI connection requests with no context/no note. I'm a little bit old school, what can I say?  I generally don't accept connection requests unless I've met you or we've connected in a significant way. Happy to chat via InMail to start!
