So I built a business that teaches it in a simple, honest way.

I'm a humungous believer in doing your bit for your local community. I run Festive Friends, which provides free social events for older people who have no friends or family.  I believe AI has huge potential to reduce digital exclusion, too.

AI for Non-Techies, born from a newsletter of the same name, was launched out of a clear need for non-technical AI education.   I'm deeply passionate and enthusiastic about helping non-technical people understand and integrate AI into their work and personal lives.

2025 was absolutely mental 🤯
£100k months, huge brands, big stages
But I also worked to dangerous levels
Here's how I'm planning to tackle 2026:

The year just gone was both the most successful AND the most unhealthy I've had. 

• We got ourselves from £20k/mo to £115k/mo, breaking the elusive "million pound month" barrier
• Both Google and Microsoft got in touch to praise what we do and how we're teaching people the tools they've built
• We had some of the world's biggest brands come to us for their AI training - and were delighted with the results
• I presented on some humongous stages, alongside celebrities and academics

BUT 

• I worked more hours than I've ever worked, often doing 12-14 hours a day and 7 day weeks, at full speed, full effort
• I had frequent nightmares and disturbed sleep, and my anxiety disorder got noticeably worse
• My friends and family were constantly telling me they were worried about me

I burnt myself out completely. 
It isn't big, it isn't clever. 
It's bloody dangerous.

I closed the business for 2 weeks over Christmas, and have had a lot of time to think deeply about how I will approach the coming year. 

1. 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
   I'm a massive, perfectionist bottleneck. I'll be carefully (but continuously) hiring for key roles and building strong, documented systems and standards that don't rely on me to deliver.
   
2. 𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼 (𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀)
   We've set ambitious growth targets for 2026, aiming for £280k/mo by Dec 2026. If an opportunity doesn't serve those goals, it's a no. Even if it sounds fun. Even if it's flattering. Even if there's free food. No.

3. 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀
   Set hours. Hard stops. No more "just one more email", no more "quick weekend catch-up" that turns into a 14-hour day. 

I'm ridiculously proud of what we achieved in 2025 - AI for Non-Techies has done SO much. 

In 2026, I'm keeping the fierce ambition but I'll be just as fierce about ditching the unhealthy habits.

Step 1: Ramble to your heart’s content. No need for any structure. 

Step 2: Download that big rambly transcript 

Step 3: Upload it into your AI chatbot of choice with a good prompt.  

Ramble chat = solid gold.

📌 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 - write copy that sells the transformation 
📌 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇 & 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 - design assessments that test real understanding 
📌 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 - proper ABCD-format objectives with the right Bloom's verbs 
📌 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁 - price with confidence, not guesswork 
📌 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 - get crystal clear on exactly who you're teaching

Every prompt follows proper structure (role, task, context, constraints, output) so you get genuinely useful results - not generic AI waffle.

This will save you hundreds of hours and drive your training business forward in a whole new way. 
You’ll need to put good stuff in (ideas, thoughts, examples of previous content) in order to get the good stuff out.

Hey 👋

Happy New Year. How was your Christmas? Have you had any snow? 

(Soz-thought I'd get it all the small talk out of the way in one hit)

I felt a little bit lost with what to post on LinkedIn towards the end of 2025. 

I've seen this platform evolve into an AI circle jerk over the past 12 months.

When you see humans engaging with inauthentic, vanilla, meaningless waffle- it's tempting to roll up your sleeves and get involved. 

But alas...I don't want that. I don't really think you want that. 

I think now, more than ever, we're going to see real people craving connection with other real people. So that's what I'll be leaning into this year. 

I'll also be addressing the fact that despite 2025 being GTC's most commercially successful year since launching in 2019...it's also been the least enjoyable. More on that to follow.
