I’ve been posting randomly before going to bed for the past few weeks.

Whatever idea came to mind, I just wrote it and hit publish.

But let’s be honest

Just to maintain my #21dayschallenge

I knew it's not sustainable.

I knew I had to build some structure,

But I couldn’t find time to sit and plan content in bulk.

Today, I finally did it.

Spent over 𝟮 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 writing and scheduling posts for the next week.

It took longer than usual (thanks to the long writing break 🥲),

But that sense of satisfaction after hitting “Schedule” for the entire week?

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀.😌

Sometimes, the hardest part isn’t creating content.

It’s sitting down to start again after a long break.

Your brain is the laziest culprit you’ll ever meet.

It always tries to 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲,

but never wants to 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Let me explain 👇

If you decide to run 𝟯 𝗸𝗺,

Your brain starts signaling tiredness by the 𝟭 𝗸𝗺 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸.

If the goal is 𝟱 𝗸𝗺,

You feel it around 𝟮 𝗼𝗿 𝟮.𝟱 𝗸𝗺.

If it’s 𝟭𝟬 𝗸𝗺,

You’ll start feeling “done” near 𝟱 𝗸𝗺.

And for 𝟮𝟭 𝗸𝗺,

That same tiredness shows up around 𝟭𝟬 𝗸𝗺.

See the pattern?

It’s rarely about actual fatigue

it’s your brain trying to 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 for a future that may never come.

That’s why someone wise once said:

 “Set your goals so high that even if you fall short,

you’ll still be ahead of where you started.”

As someone who was exploring Microsoft Fabric,

I checked if there’s any free option to learn concepts like data ETL, notebooks, and job scheduling.

10 Most Common Resume Mistakes (from minor to major)

🔟 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟮 𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀

If your resume reads like a novel, recruiters won’t finish the first chapter.

9️⃣ 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼

Your high school marks don’t matter once you’ve graduated from college.

8️⃣ 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀

Marital status or religion? That space could be used for something that actually helps you get hired.

7️⃣ 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼

Unless it’s a modelling role, it adds bias, not value.

6️⃣ 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

Don’t list everything you’ve ever done. Tailor your resume for the job you want.

5️⃣ 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆

That “hardworking and passionate professional” line? Everyone uses it. Write something that reflects you.

4️⃣ 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗶𝘁𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸

If the hiring manager can’t see your work, they’ll move to the next person who shows theirs.

3️⃣ 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀

“Worked on dashboards” is vague. “Built a Power BI dashboard that reduced reporting time by 60%” makes an impact.

2️⃣ 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗧𝗦

Even the best resumes fail if the system can’t read them. Keywords and formatting matter.

1️⃣ 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀

This is the biggest mistake. Projects are your proof of skill, the difference between telling and showing.

In data analysis, everything starts (and fails) with dates.

Be it SQL, Power BI, or Excel

if your dates go wrong,

your entire analysis goes wrong.

Here are a few best practices to keep your dates in check 👇

✅ Maintain a separate Date Table 

Always have one in your model for consistent filtering and time intelligence.

✅ Use standardised formats 

Stick to a single format (like YYYY-MM-DD) across all your data sources.

✅ Verify date ranges 

A simple check on start and end dates can save hours of debugging later.

✅ Use date functions 

Functions like DATEADD, EOMONTH, or DATEDIFF are your best friends; don’t reinvent the wheel.

✅ Handle missing or incomplete dates

Watch out for nulls or placeholders like “1900-01-01”. They can quietly distort your charts.

✅ Consider time zones 

If your data comes from multiple regions, account for time zone differences. (I’ll share my experience with this one in another post 😅)
