The seller called back three times trying to negotiate. Each time I explained:

They couldn't understand why I'd turn down "easy money."

I couldn't understand why they'd risk someone's health for a few thousand units.

The clients you turn away define your business as much as the ones you accept.

But I put my face on this company. And our mission to serve sellers unfairly impacted by review fraud or TOS-violating reviews.

Legit feedback and honest reviews stay. Always.

I've turned down multiple six-figure deals because they'd hurt clients long-term.

Some founders think I'm leaving money on the table.

What's a decision you made that cost you short-term but paid off long-term?

It's a tough pill to swallow, but sellers need to remember: 

Amazon doesn't work for you.

People file a case with Amazon expecting instant responses. 

Updates every 6 hours. 

Reviews removed by morning.

Then they get frustrated when Amazon goes silent for 10 days.

Here's what they don't understand: Amazon has millions of sellers. You're not special to them.

And bombarding them with update requests? That hurts your case.

We learned this over two years of testing.

The process that works:

→ File your case 
→ Give Amazon the appropriate time 
→ Wait the full 10 days before asking for updates 
→ Stay factual, not emotional

Most sellers fail at step three. They can't handle the silence.

Day 2: "Any updates?"
Day 4: "Can you check on this?"
Day 6: "This is urgent!"

Amazon sees that and deprioritizes you.

When we file with Brand Registry, we wait exactly 10 days. 

That's their internal response window. Respect it.

The other mistake? Getting emotional.

"This review is destroying my business! My family depends on this! You need to fix this NOW!"

Amazon doesn't care about your emotions. They care about facts.

Which guideline was violated? Where's the evidence? What's the specific policy?

Bring receipts, not feelings.

Patience and compliance beat urgency and emotion every single time.

I get more excited about video testimonials than new client signups.

Sounds backwards for a founder, right?

But when a client records a video saying "You doubled my sales," that hits different.

And in a good, video review, they're able to dig deeper than the raw revenue numbers.

There's a human impact to the work we do. 

The happy client is excited to:

• Hire another employee
• Take their first real vacation
• Pay off debt
• Maybe have another kid and feed more mouths

New clients are great. Don't get me wrong.

But testimonials mean I actually moved the needle for someone.

Their business is better because of what we built.

That's the part that makes me glow.

I didn't start TraceFuse to get rich. I wanted to solve a problem nobody else could crack.

What metric gets you more excited than revenue?

Some people need to spend less time learning and more time doing.

If Indiana Jones spent all his time in the classroom... how would he ever find the Holy Grail?

I used to teach influencer marketing at UCLA.

Loved it. The students. The structure. The credibility it gave my personal brand.

But teaching about influencer marketing and actually building a company? Different games entirely.

In the classroom, you can theorize. Present case studies. Show what worked for others.

In the real world, you're the case study.

And most days, you're the failure case before you become the success story.

Teaching gave me frameworks. Building TraceFuse taught me resilience.

I grew up in the wild west of SEO.

So I know exactly how people game systems.

Black hat tactics. Link schemes. Keyword stuffing.

Everyone's always looking for the shortcut to beat the algorithm.

Amazon's review system is no different.

The same mentality that drives SEO manipulation drives review fraud.

"If I can just game this system, I'll win."

And honestly? Some of them do win. Temporarily.

But here's what I learned from watching Google crush black hat SEO for two decades:

The platforms always adapt. The shortcuts always get caught eventually.

Google got smarter. Penalized manipulators. Rewarded quality content.

Amazon's doing the same thing with reviews.

So now, I'm helping sellers defend against the people who are trying to game the system.

Every tactic I see in review fraud, I've seen a version of in SEO.

Coordinated attacks? That's negative SEO.

Fake signals? That's link farms.

Sophisticated disguises? That's cloaking.

It's the same shady tactics, just on a different platform.

The sellers who win long-term aren't the ones finding loopholes.

They're the ones building legitimate brands and protecting themselves from attackers.

I've been in the trenches fighting against algorithm manipulation for years.

Now I'm using that knowledge to help sellers stay clean while competitors try to drag them down.

Because I've seen how this movie ends.

The cheaters get caught. 

The platforms get smarter. 

The honest players win.

This is the #1 reason sellers don't get reviews removed:

(even after filing their case "properly")

There are a number of different Amazon departments you can report fraudulent reviews to.

Most sellers only know about one.

When you report through Seller Central, you're filing with their standard support team.

That's fine for obvious violations.

But what happens when they deny your case?

Most sellers give up. Assume Amazon said no and that's final.

We're just getting started.

We have access to:

→ Vendor Central teams
→ Brand Registry departments  
→ Escalation email addresses
→ Multiple seller support channels

Different departments have different thresholds for what they'll remove.

Different reps have different interpretations of Amazon's guidelines.

You need to find the right department that specializes in the specific type of violation we're reporting.

A review mentioning competitor brands? That goes to a different team than a review with hate speech.

FBA-related complaints? Different department entirely.

We've spent years mapping out which violations get handled where.

Most sellers are filing once, getting denied, moving on.

We're multiple moves ahead, taking different approaches for different scenarios.

You learn the system and how to navigate it effectively.

When someone says "Amazon denied my case," my first question is always:

Which department did you file with?

Because there are more you probably don't know about.

And one of them might be the right one for your specific violation.

Your competitor just bought your product.

Left a 1-star review.

Then did it again. And again.

Welcome to Amazon's dark side.

We call them "sock puppet accounts." Fake buyer profiles used to tank competitor ratings.
