Before diving into tech sales, I spent several years as a 5th and 6th grade math teacher.  Those years honed my skills in clear communication, building trust, and fostering a positive and productive environment.  These skills translate perfectly to the world of sales, where understanding a client's needs and crafting win-win solutions is paramount.

While I loved seeing the light bulb moments in my students' eyes, teaching post covid was a thankless job that had me coming home with headaches everyday, which made it tough to be the father/husband I needed to be.   My family without a doubt, are the reason I made the switch to tech and I'm grateful I did.  Now, at Chili Piper, I can leverage my skills and passion while also having the flexibility and work-life balance to be truly present for my family. They keep me grounded, remind me what truly matters, and occasionally provide some hilarious negotiation practice (turns out arguing over who gets the last cookie is great prep for closing a deal!) 😂
