Saving aggressively can look smart on paper but it can quietly make your life smaller.

A close friend of mine, let’s call him Rohan, earns really well.
On paper, he’s doing everything “right.”
He earns around ₹25L a year.
And invests almost ₹22L of it.
Sounds disciplined. Admirable even.

But here’s the part no one talks about.

Rohan skips experiences.

The pain you avoid today… becomes the weakness that controls you tomorrow.

A lot of people hide from this truth.
But my friend learned it the hard way.

Last year, he went through one of the hardest phases of his life — a job loss, a breakup, and a financial setback, all happening within a span of two months.

And like most people, his first reaction was to run.

The biggest financial mistake people make isn’t only choosing the wrong job, it’s choosing the wrong partner.

A few years ago, I watched a friend who had everything going right in his career steady growth, good savings, and big dreams. 

Then he got into a relationship where everything revolved around appearances: luxury dinners, expensive trips, branded gifts, and constant comparisons on social media.

Year-end is upon us, and the debate between staying in and stepping out to catch up with the world around us is still very real. 

Whether it’s meeting friends, exploring the city, or heading to a New Year’s event, comfort often wins. 

And while comfort is important, sometimes it’s just our own lethargy keeping us from experiences we might actually enjoy.

Thinking about that, I decided to head out and that’s when I came across a life-sized coop by Swiggy Scenes that perfectly captured this feeling.

A person sits inside, surrounded by a familiar at-home New Year’s Eve setup - couch, TV, lamp - idle and scrolling. Outside, a buzzer invites interaction. 

Press it, and the coop transforms: lights, music, party energy, and suddenly the idle sitter becomes part of the celebration.

It’s a simple but powerful reminder of how easy it is to get stuck at home and how just a little nudge can get us out and into the moment.

Never feel threatened by rich women. Feel inspired instead.
I remember a conversation with a close friend a few years ago.

He casually said, “I feel a bit uncomfortable around women who are too successful.

Not because of money but because he felt small in their presence.
That stuck with me.

Over time, I realised something important:

When we say rich women, we often misunderstand what richness actually means.

It’s not about bank balance.
It’s about depth.

Rich in class.
Rich in character.
Rich in communication skills.
Rich in behaviour.
Rich in handling pressure without breaking.
Rich in managing ambition, family, emotions, and responsibilities — all at the same time.

Such women don’t dominate rooms with noise.
They carry calm confidence.
They don’t intimidate they elevate.

If someone’s growth makes us uncomfortable, it’s not their success that’s the problem.

It’s our unhealed insecurity.

Don’t feel threatened by strong, evolved women.
Learn from them. Grow with them. Respect them.

Because real richness isn’t about money

Stop everything and read this carefully.

An Indian company has just been ranked No. 1 in the world for green power.

Energy Intelligence, a UK-based global research organisation that tracks the world’s 100 largest power generators, has released its 2025 “Top 100 Green Utilities” ranking.

Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) is now ranked No. 1 globally.

This is not a branding exercise it is a data-driven benchmark based on:
• Renewable energy capacity (excluding hydro)
• Carbon intensity per unit of power generated

In short it measures who is actually decarbonising at scale.

And the shift is real:
• AGEL has moved from Rank 3 to Rank 1
• It is the only Indian company in the global Top 5
• Two Indian utilities are now in the Top 10
• Six Indian companies feature in the Top 100 — compared to just one in 2011

That’s not just progress.
That’s a structural shift in global energy leadership.

AGEL today operates 16.7 GW of renewable capacity and is targeting 50 GW by FY2030 — accounting for over 10% of India’s 500 GW national renewable target.

And this transition is now powered by economics, not just ambition. As Adani Group Group CFO Jugeshinder (Robbie) Singh (MAICD) says:

We now have the policy architecture and economics that work. The transition is now an economic push — not just a climate push.

Global decarbonisation still has a long road ahead.

But leadership at scale matters.

A world-leading benchmark has now placed an Indian renewable company at the very top.

This is bigger than a corporate milestone.

It is a signal that India is moving from an energy transition participant to an energy transition leader.
