Something interesting came out of the latest Common Thread Collective report.

The Direct-to-Consumer Confidence Index (DTCCI) - based on 5,000 daily shopper responses across 2,500 ecommerce brands - just hit a two-year high.

Three straight weeks of increasing purchase intent.

This isn’t a hype stat.

KnoCommerce collects around 6 million responses each month, and their data science team found a direct correlation between this consumer confidence data and marketing efficiency.

In other words, when people feel ready to buy, your ads work better.

But here’s the gap:

Many brands are still playing defence - holding cash, cutting spend, and understocking. They’re acting like it’s still 2022.

Meanwhile, consumer sentiment is saying the exact opposite.

People are ready to spend again.

If your marketing and inventory strategy doesn’t reflect that reality,

In the early 2000s, the LEGO Group was on the verge of collapse.

For a long time, we relied entirely on Shopify to track our inventory.

It worked - until it didn’t.

With multiple sales channels running, the numbers never really matched reality.

Some SKUs showed “in stock” when they weren’t.

Others were selling out faster than we could restock.

So we changed how we track everything.

Now, instead of relying on a single dashboard,

We combine data from Shopify, Amphora (our logistics partner), and BeProfit into one simple Excel tracker.

It tells us exactly when to request production from our manufacturers

to always cover at least 60 days of sales and flag products that have been sitting beyond 90 days, which shapes our next marketing pushes.

This minor operational fix changed how we plan, spend, and scale.

What October really taught us

October made something obvious - people don’t connect with perfection.

It’s bold - and it’s working.

But this isn’t about gaming anymore.

It’s about attention - and who’s smart enough to follow it early.

Gaming audiences have evolved.

This move removes the biggest barrier in e-commerce - context switching.

When a streamer mentions a product, the viewer can buy it instantly without leaving the stream.
